Hornby Brake Van

Though not a cheap item (around £15), the Hornby BR brake van looks rather toy-like straight out of the box.

I therefore decided a little "weathering" was in order. Dry-brushing techniques were used mainly with dark brown and black poster paints, but with a little added coal scatter too.

It's surprising what a few minutes of careful effort can achieve, though it's important to know when to stop as it's easy to overdo things.
